Established in 1996, the Simi Sunrise Rotary Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to empowering local and global communities. Through educational scholarships and youth vocational training, we aim to equip the next generation with the tools they need to thrive. We also provide vital health and humanitarian assistance, driven by our mission to uplift those in need. Our network is part of the larger Rotary community, a global force of 1.4 million members working together to enact meaningful, sustainable change in areas such as literacy and peace-building.
Our commitment to health is evident in our proactive approach to disease prevention and care. We lead initiatives to set up temporary clinics, blood donation centers, and training facilities, particularly in underserved communities struggling with access to healthcare. Our water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs further demonstrate our dedication to wellbeing, aiming to reduce waterborne diseases and enhance quality of life. These programs enable children to attend school more regularly, and mothers to devote more time to nurturing their families.
In the aftermath of disaster, we mobilize our global network to aid in recovery and rebuilding efforts. Partnering with organizations like ShelterBox, we support every phase of a community's recovery. As founding partners of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we have drastically reduced polio cases worldwide, showing our unwavering commitment to public health. Our efforts in peace promotion are integral to our mission, addressing root causes of conflict like poverty, discrimination, and education inequality. We are firm believers that fostering peace on a local scale can create ripples of positive change globally.
